Not only does WordPress come packaged with some helpful tools, there are a lot of third-party plugins and hacks to combat comment spam as well.
If you use WordPress, here’s a lengthy list of ways to fight back. I recommend Kitten’s Spaminator and Kitten’s Spam Words. They work well together.
