    Lola

Breakfast on this cold and rainy morning: a swanky joint called Lola, recommended by a guy we had lunch with at Salumi.

Lola is owned by the same guy who owns Serious Pie, that yuppie pizza joint we didn’t want to go to. But we wanted breakfast, Lola received good reviews on Yelp, and it was closeby, so we went for it.

As expected, Lola was a little pricey, but when we got our food, all was forgiven.

    Red Mill Burgers

Dinner this afternoon, Red Mill Burgers. We heard about this place through “Man vs. Food”. Considered the best burger in Seattle, Mikey and I can certainly vouch for its quality. A good burger.

    Puerto Rico

After the Starcraft debacle, we decided to give Puerto Rico a try. The beauty of playing in a freeplay room is that you run into new folks looking for a game. We met two other guys who asked if they could join, and right there, we had a four-player game/training session.

As I suspected, Puerto Rico reminds me of Stone Age. They’re not the same game, but they have similar concepts. I’m not a huge fan of Stone Age, but I’ll give Puerto Rico a few more runs before I make a call on it. All in all, I still prefer Settlers.

Hard to tell from the picture, but the TRS guys (Totally Rad Show, one of my favorite video podcasts) were in the same freeplay room. Couldn’t tell what game they were playing, though.

Just tried to give Starcraft, the board game, a try. I couldn’t even get past the setup stage. Way too complicated.

    Tutta Bella

For dinner, Tutta Bella, neopolitan pizzeria. Not sure what that means, but they had thin-crust pizza and gelato. Both were very good.
